About Me
Hi! I'm Mai-Anh (pronounced /my-an/), a dedicated, licensed, and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with over 14 years of experience helping individuals of all ages achieve their communication goals. I am a dual language therapist, and can also provide therapy for Vietnamese families. Wonder Speech is a small private practice in the Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Tigard surrounding areas.
I specialize in tailoring personalized therapy plans that address the unique needs of each individual, using evidence-based techniques and a compassionate approach to create a fun, caring, and supportive setting to help your child achieve their goals in the most successful way.
My mission is to empower children and their families by providing them with the tools and support they
need to feel heard and valued. I am eager to learn about your child's unique

Services
Consultation
During our free phone consultation service, we can discuss your child's communication concerns, where you can ask questions, and receive professional guidance at no cost. This convenient service helps you understand potential therapy needs and determines if Wonder Speech is a good fit for you and your child.
Evaluation
At Wonder Speech we offer comprehensive speech and language, fluency, and pragmatic evaluations to identify communication challenges. Through detailed assessments, we develop personalized therapy plans to support effective communication and improve speech and language skills for individuals of all ages.
Speech Therapy
Following the evaluation, we will determine if ongoing speech and language therapy sessions are recommended. A recommendation for frequency of weekly sessions will be made as part of your child’s evaluation. Services are provided mostly in your home. The main focus of therapy will be child-led, and play-based activities focusing on the child’s interests and needs to foster effective communication and enhancing quality of life. We also follow a neurodivergent affirming approach with our clients.
Speech therapy addresses the following:
- Expressive Language and Receptive Language
- Fluency disorders/stuttering
- Phonological disorders/speech sound disorders
- AAC (Augmentative/Alternative Communication)
- Pragmatic skills
- Cognitive challenges
Process for an initial client:
- Consultation: Free of charge.
- Evaluation: This typically takes 60-90 minutes that includes an evaluation report and a follow up phone call/video call to discuss results in more detail.
- Treatment: Each session is created with the needs and personality of the child in mind and incorporates strategies and parent coaching to maximize progress.
Parent Coaching
We want to empower you to be your child’s friend, coach and advocate. Parent coaching sessions include a set number of sessions involving parent(s) and children, incorporating video feedback sessions and review sessions. Schedule a consultation if you are interested in learning more about parent coaching sessions.
We currently accept private pay, cash/check/credit card. Payment is due at the time of service. A monthly superbill can be provided to you to allow you to request reimbursement directly from your health insurance company.
